Excellent meeting - we're bursting at the seams!
We'll know you were paying attention at this meeting if...
You're noticing more responses to the emails you send because you're getting through to more readers... through to their in-boxes and to their brains!
Patricia Armstrong (that's me!) shared some more tips on "Creating emails that readers read and forwarders forward, also known as Electronically Communicable Thoughts"
The highlights included pointers on ways to attract more readers to your messages. If you were at the meeting you'll understand the following hazlenut summary.
If you missed the meeting, please send me an email and I'll get you a copy of the handouts.
Without further delay, the hazlenut version:
**Subject lines aren't for sissies!
**Use words and phrases that engage the reader and relate to the reader's potential interest in what you have to say.
**Size MATTERS! Break up larger messages with bullet points, subtitles, highlights and anecdotes.
**Use factual statements at the begining of your message to build trust.
**Use colors and punctuation!!!!
**Give readers options: "...vist this link ____..." or " read more here ____"
**Put it in a nutshell!!
**Read your mesage before sending it. Read it again. Read it out loud. Have someone else read it! Make sure you understand your message from the reader's viewpoint.
**Use spell and grammar checks!

Incredible response to a new form suggested by Laurinda Handlik...
At the April 2nd meeting The Board introduced a form that will be emailed with all meeting reminder notices and will soon be downloadable from our website.
The purpose of this form is to help us maximize the opportunities we develop from our membership and to assist each other with developing new accounts, clients or customers.
